Once a year, people all around the world make a stand against global warming, by switching off all their electricity simultaneously for 60minutes. This great and global phenomenon is known as Earth Hour, which is now in it’s 6th Year running.
This year i’ve been asked to create an artwork for Sydney’s premier ‘Earth Hour‘ event, hosted by the ‘Piano Room‘.
The brief stipulated that two artworks were needed, one for the main event, and one for the ‘beyond the hour’ afterparty. Earth Hour have had some great artworks in the past, so i felt inclined to dust off the old thinking cap. Bringing a sketchpad to a dinner with a friend, the artwork posted below began to take shape. To really catch the audience’s attention, i’ve chosen GIF animation as my weapon of choice.
I’ve also included a layout for the event’s microsite, which ties in nicely with the overall campaign.
